Hagu is very curious about human things (or 'flesh thingies', as it call them), and an expert in machines. It claims that it can fix anything, but the true is that if it gets its gears on a thing it doesn't know about, explosions happen. Frequently. It is talkative, but it sure knows when to remain quiet

Whenever it feels hungry, it devours any metal scrap or screw that it finds. Sometimes it has eaten a whole drill!

It doesn't fell OK about fighting, but Hagu would do anything to help others... Even if it cannot understand the reason behind the battle, this Digimon will protect its allies beyond its limits, if necessary. This might be related to its friendship concept as well as its interest in organic life -digital one too, but it claims that it "has seen enough of that". Since almost every single being it has known was mechanical, it wants to know more about the "flesh-beings". It would be no problem, except that it sounds creepy at times, stating that it would like to "run some experiments" on both humans and animals. Is it joking or not? Does Hagu even know what joking means?

This strange spot of its personality has a counterpart: though you couldn't tell at first sight if it's joking, it's also very innocent when it comes to "human" issues, thus being tricked easily.
