Light flittered into Harmin's eyes as they peeked open from their sockets, consciousness slowly returning to him. A sense of dizziness and unease had settled all around him as if he'd been snatched up like a fly by a frog's tongue. He weakly maneuvered himself into a sitting position as he tried to comprehend what had happened to himself, a hand rubbing gingerly against his forehead as he tried to recall what had happened just seconds ago. Or was it minutes? Hours? He could hardly tell. All he knew is that it was 3:20 a.m. in the suburbs of New York and he'd still been on his computer, browsing aimlessly. He still hadn't even changed into more comfortable clothes from his outing that evening, still donned in his light yellow hoodie, faded blue jeans, thin white undershirt, and an old pair of sneakers he was too stubborn to replace. In the mist of mindlessly clicking links, he had noticed a strange buzzing in is headphones. It wasn't static or white noise either, it seemed like it had in intentional source. The noise had grown louder and louder, and before he could find the page that much have been creating it, he'd blacked out for no apparent reason.
As he came to, he realized immediately that something changed. He was no longer in his room, or even indoors for that matter. Under his hands he felt... Grass? He gripped it in his palms as his eyes opened fully, taking on the sight of some lush environment that was far too green and far too quiet to be New York. Had he been kidnapped? He wondered that to himself as he looked around the area, trying to make sense of everything around him. He slowly stood to his feet as he surveyed the surrounding area, walking towards and peering out a giant, oak-like tree to see... Buildings? They were odd little buildings indeed, nothing like what existed in the states. Had he been shipped overseas? Craving answers, the boy started tentatively towards the buildings, wondering if he'd find trouble or salvation there.

Nearby, Adam Jackson and his three digimon, Koe the Koemon, Terry the Terriermon and Ace the wormmon were busy at work..well at play with baby digimon of Primary Village. Adam was wearing baggy cargo pants, a dark green wife beater and his bright red hooded trench coat with his guilds symbol of a tree with 3 crimson claw marks on the trunk on the back of the coat. He also wore sneakers, his digivice in his coat pocket, his crest of friendship around his neck. The Tamer and his trio were busy playing music for the baby digimon having them dance and bounce around for exercise. Adam was playing a smooth melody on a harmonica while Koe played along on a set of bongo's and Terry played a set of castinets while Ace helped the babies dance.
While the group played, several of the digi-eggs hatched to the sound of the music, cribs appearing under them. While Adam danced and twirled around while playing the harmonica, he noticed a rather confused boy wandering around like he was lost. Adam stopped playing and slowly approached to the boy who looked like he was about to flip out.
"Hey, take it easy man. I know the trip can be a bit..disoranting. You must be a new arrival. Welcome to the digital world. More specifically, Primary Village also known as the village of beginnings. This is where the inhabitants of this world known as digimon are born. Most humans who get sucked into this world are brought here to meet their first partner digimon. Check your pockets. You should find a small electronic device. It's called a digivice. It will lead you to your digimon partner. Oh! I almost forgot, My name is Adam Jackson."
Adam then bowed and motioned towards the crowded area where the music was coming from and lots of different types of baby digimon were dancing.
"I'm sure you have tons of questions. I will gladly answer them all. I have been here for 11 years since I was five. Just do me a favor and take a deep breath and try not to freak out. It scares the babies and makes them cry."
Seeing his Tamer talking to someone new, Terry quickly trotted over and hopped onto his tamers shoulder, his long ears hanging down.
"Hiya new guy! I'm Terry!"
Adam then lightly tapped Terry on the head.
"Now Terry we discussed this, let the new arrivals get through the freak out stage before you start in on them."
Terry nodded with a smile.
"Sorry Papa."
Terry then got off of his tamers shoulder and went over and began to play music again while dancing.

The information was too much for Harmin to take in all at once. He rose his hands in silence as if to ask for a moment, breathing deeply as he was instructed to. As his chest rose and fell with purposeful movement, a hand slid down his leg to reach into his pocket, his palm finding a device that hadn't been there earlier. He retrieved the item from his clothes, staring down at it, then back across to the white and green beast before him. He bit his lip as his legs started shaking under him, fingers clenched tightly around the trinket that had found its way into his pocket.
"Digimon...?" He asked quietly to himself, staring down at the device before looking back up to the one who'd introduced himself as Adam, "What's a digimon?" he asked more purposely now, a blipping sound from his hand causing him to look down distractedly. As Adam had said, the device displayed a vague depiction of the area around them, a red dot marking... Something. A digimon, apparently. He took a while to study the device, looking at its layout to determine what it all meant. He figured that he must be at the center, so the red dot was... Wait, it was really close to him. It must be-
A purring sound and a rub against his leg caused Harmin to look down to his ankle, finding a small, floating, jelly-like creature nuzzling his leg. Color drained from his face as he saw the creature, not daring to move as the strange being actually touched him. The touch solidified in his mind that this all had to be real. His dreams were never vivid enough to feel things this clearly, let alone imagine new species. The blip on the digivice confirmed that, if Adam was telling the truth, this thing was... He couldn't remember. It was too much for him to take in all at once. Half of what he'd said to him had gone over his head, "I'm so confused."

Adam sighed and scratched the back of his head. This was always so difficult. Adam decided to take it slower this go around as he picked up the baby Poyomon gently petting it softly. He then held it out for the tamer to take when he was ready.
"Digimon, it's short for digital monster. You are in their home world known as the digital world. Now follow me on this, I'll take it slow. That little device in your hand is known as a digivice. The digivice helps these little guys do something called digivolving. In simple terms it makes them change into a bigger and stronger form. You having a digivice means you are something called a Tamer and this little guy is your digimon."
Adam waited and watched the young boy to see if he was taking it better now that Adam had slowed down. Adam slowly reached his hand into his coat pocket and pulled out his digivice. His was longer and thinner and was a dark green color. It was a more advanced model. He gently held it up.
"I'm a tamer too."
Adam held out the poyomon again with a smile toward the young man.
"Say hello to your tamer little one. it's alright."
Adam slowly looked at the young man keeping his confident smile.
"Being chosen as a tamer is a great honor. It means you are destined for great things. This little guy here is going to be by your side the whole time. Isn't that right little one?"

The hatchling murred affectionately as it wriggled from Adam's grasp in an attempt to leap it's way to its tamer. It fell just short of its plight, however; beginning to sink quickly to the ground, intercepted by Harmin's quick reaction to catch it. He was surprised at himself for the immediate response. A minute ago he'd been scared to death of it, and now he'd just been scared to death for it. He held the being to his chest as the poyomon rumbled loudly against him, nestling into his chest as Harmin addressed the more experienced tamer, "Okay, so let me see if I understand." he began timidly, his thumb rolling over the poyomon's head in idle ginger strokes. It really was sort of adorable. "This is some other world from earth, some humans are brought from our world to tame digimon here... But, why?" He asked with an unsure expression, shifting his posture as he responded to the other boy, "What am I here for? And who brought me here?" He asked, desiring more satisfactory answers. The constancy of the digimon's affectionate rubs were enough to keep the edge off of him though. Harmin always did adore animals back home. Maybe these weren't so different... Though apparently some could talk. That struck him as very odd.

Adam sighed as the boy began asking the harder questions. Questions in which Adam unfortunately did not have answers too. He just shrugged softly rolling back and forth on heels trying to think of what to tell the boy. After a few minutes Adam just decided to wing it.
"I will be completely honest with ya man, I don't have all the answers. See..the digital world and our world..It's like..a coin, yea a coin! Two sides, same coin. This world is the flipside to ours. As for what you are supposed to do now, that's up to you. Some, like me and my guild became protectors of this world. Some unfortunatly have been trying to destroy it. Most however just try to live and survive. As for who has brought us here, no one knows though I have the feeling that we are here for a reason, like we are the pieces to a bigger puzzle. I'm not really one to obsess over the big picture. I just try to help others and keep this world I found myself in safe."
Adam then patted the boys shoulder gently as if he was the boys mentor. He made a thinking face and just sighed after studying the boy.
"So, are you ready to learn a bit more about digimon? The basics at the very least?"
Adam couldn't help but feel a bit proud of himself. He for once felt smart and he liked it. He wondered if his friend Melody would be impressed. He just shrugged and waited for the boys answer.

"That would be fantastic." Harmin spoke with a solemn expression, his voice softer now than before, becoming closer to his normal tone as the tense edge to his demeanor fell away. He stroked the curve of poyomon's head, letting it purr into him as he felt it vibrate as a faster frequency, wondering if something was up with it. "I'd like to know everything there is that I need to know." he spoke as the being in his arms shook harder and more violently, eventually glowing brightly, shining in Harmin's eyes as he clenched his eyelids tightly, blinded by the going on. After a few moments in which the weight and shape in Harmin's arms began to shift, the blinding aura dissipated, allowing Harmin full view of the larger thing in his arms, this more developed creature resuming its nuzzles into his chest. "You're so warm, Harmin." He spoke aloud for the first time, lips turned up in a smile as he nestled against his tamer, the boy dumbfounded by the display. "C-Can you start with explaining what just happened?"

Adam's eyes went wide as the Poyomon began shaking and then digivolved into a Tokomon. Adam clapped happily once the process was done. Adam just held up his hands to have Harmen calm down. He placed his hand on Harmen's shoulder.
"Be calm man. You just witnessed digivolution first hand. Your little Poyomon just digivolved into a Tokomon. You see, there are six basic stages of digivolution. It goes like this, Baby, In-training, Rookie, Champion, ultimate and finally mega. Digivolution, to put it in simple terms, is an energy sharing process. The digimon uses it's energy while borrowing some of yours to reach the higher forms of digivolution. Rookie, once reached, becomes most digimons default form like with my three partners. My partners are able to reach the level of ultimate."
Adam couldn't help but get the warm fuzzies as the watched the new duo together. It was quite adorable really. It made him wonder if when Koe and he were first partnered up if they ever looked that cute. After a few moments of watching Adam cleared his throat.
"Digimon have to be tended to like human world pets. You gotta keep them healthy and fed or they will get sick or won't be able to digivolve. Oh, don't worry about your partner reaching champion or higher, after a threat passes or they run out of energy and go back to rookie or if they use up a ton of energy, in training. Oh before I forget. You have a name right Harmen? Why not give your partner one?"
Adam then gave a thumbs up to Harmen and his Tokomon.
"After you do that, i'll continue the lesson."

"A name, huh?" Harmin pondered as he held the larger digimon against his chest, cocking his head as his gaze met tokomon's. The digimon's smile didn't waver as their shared a look. The boy offered a finger under his tokomon's chin, petting it gently as he mused aloud with a gleeful grin, "You're just a precious little angel, aren't you?" He chuckled, reminding himself of home. "My mom was always obsessed with them. Angels, that is. Talked at length about how whenever we did something good, there was a patron angel who was pleased with us." He shook out his head, Tokomon's gaze appearing confused, but contented. "My favorite was always Hesedial, the angel of mercy and benevolence. It seemed like every other angel was some sort of angel of war or death... It always seemed fitting to me that angels acted more like he did." Harmin grins as he decided, tokomon responding with an assortment of unsure noises, "I think he'd be something to take after. If there really are some out here who are trying to destroy this world, we could do with some kinder souls." He grins, ruffling his digimon's new set of ears before deciding, "Sed. I'll call him Sed."

Adam tried to hide a tinge of sadness as Harmen mentioned his mother and her story about the angels. Adam let out a small chuckle because the next thing that came to his mind was the champion level digimon Angemon. Adam smiled but then cleared his throat as he got ready to talk about his least favorite subject about the digital world.
"Speaking of good and evil Harmen, It's sad to say but not all digimon are good. Be they digimon with evil tamers or just plain mean evil wild digimon it does happen. Some digimon are just savage and don't know any better while others do what they do because they see it as fun. Point is, you have to be on your.."
Adam was then cut off by a loud shrill scream of a baby leafmon as a mean looking Fangmon prowled into the village licking his lips hungrily asking who was afraid of the big bad wolf. Adam groaned and looked at Harmen.
"Speaking of, duty calls"
Adam then broke into a fast run and quickly sent a jump kick to the Fangmons face knocking him away from a group of baby digimon cribs. As the Fangmon staggered to his feet, Adam was joined by Koe,Terry and Ace who stood by Adam's side.
"I will tell you for certain we arn't Mutt. You came to the wrong village looking for a snack!"
Adam then smirked and ran at the fangmon again while his digivice glowed bright in his pocket causing his three digimon partners to be enveloped in green energy orbs while Adam put the fangmon in a headlock to distract him while his three partners digivolved.
"Koemon digivolve too!!...Apemon! Terriermon digivolve too!!..Gargomon!" "Wormmon digivolve too!!..Stingmon!"
The three orbs then shattered and revealed the three champion level digimon who soon rushed for their foe as Adam broke the headlock and kicked the foe towards his partners. Koe quickly grabbed the massive bone club off of his back and swung it upward to knock Fangmon into the air.
"Mega bone stick!
Gargomon then aimed his gun arms up at the Fangmon and began blasting him with energy bullets while Ace blasted him with energy needles.
"Gargo pellets!" "Multi-moon shooter!"
When the fangmon landed, it stood up weakly reciving a glare from Adam.
"You are beaten, leave this place and never hunt here again!"
After a few moments the fangmon just weakly nodded and ran off. Once he was out of site, all three of Adam's partner digimon returned to their rookie stages as the baby digimon cheered causing them to blush. Adam just made his way back over to Harmen and Sed.
"Sorry about that. I have one final thing that is of grave importance. This is not a video game. The wild enemies you decide to kill do not respawn or at the very least have the smallest of chances of being reborn. See, a partnered up digimon like Sed,Koe,Terry or Ace will always be reborn if they fall in battle because of us..well..our digivices. It saves their data and sends it back here in the form of an egg. Point is..killing is bad. I know obvious..or at least it should be."
Adam was then greeted by the sounds of rumbling tummies and cries.
"It's lunch time for the babies, wanna help?"

Harmin watched with mouth agape at the display of the battle. He hadn't been here but for a handful of minutes and he was seeing things play out that he never expected to see. The battle was brief, but very intense. Those digimon evolved into things far different than what he expected. They were far from the cute, lovable creatures he was introduced to them as. He guessed there was a reason Adam called them monsters before. "S-Sure..." He finally calls back hesitantly, mind still reeling from the awesome display of power he witnessed... Just a day ago he was at home watching cartoons in his pajamas. This was all coming on so far.
Sed squirmed around in Harmin's arms to look him in the face, noticing the frightened look that marred his expression. He wiggled around to get his attention, casting a look towards him and calling out to him with an encouraging, "Don't act so scared, Harmin." He said with a toothy grin, fangs poking out from over his lips as his eyes shone bright, speaking for the second time so far.
Harmin responded with a similar glance, knowing that the young monster was right. This world seemed so fantastic and so different from his own, though apparently it was one in the same. He had a lot to learn, but... He knew he'd be alright. Harmin cast a grin at his encouraging partner, bopping his nose playfully with his fingertip before finally setting him down, letting him trot along beside him as he nodded, ready to help. "Right. What can I do to help?"

Adam and his three digimon stretched after the battle before Adam smiled at Harmen and his partner proud of his quick victory. He then made a thinking face and rocked back and fourth on his heels looking at his three digimon who were desperatly trying to calm the hungry crying digimon by making goofy faces which were failing. A idea suddenly struck him.
"Oh I know! Distraction! We need a distraction! Why don't you tell the babies some fantastic human world story! To them the human world is the magical mysterious place, not the digital one. Make something up if you have too..just keep them busy!"
Adam then made his way into the giant mass of crying digimon and whistled loud using his fingers which caused the crying babies to go quiet suddenly while still sniffling as they looked up at Adam.
"It's okay little ones, our new friend Harmen is gonna tell you a story! He is gonna tell you a story about the mysterious and magical human world ooooo"
Adam made a ghostly moaning sound while wiggling his fingers to sell the idea which got the babies interested and focused on Harmen. Adam then ran over and joined his three partners and began to quickly make bottles of warm milk along with small bowls of what looked like kibble for baby digimon, giving the few digimon who were in their in-training level. As the group sneakily began passing out the food Adam made a motion to have Harmen start talking. If the babies caught Adam with the food he would get mobbed. Terry, being the thoughtful digi-toddler that he was got Sed an extra big bowl of the digi kibble sitting it in front of him and then giving the Tokomon a big hug before going back to work.

Harmin blushed brightly as he was put on the spot, his partner digimon abandoning him for his bowl of food. He cleared his throat as he tried to think of a good story that the digimon would enjoy, maybe something lighter than what immediately came to mind when he thought of his world. "W-Well, erm..." He began, racking his brain for any story that would do well here, "Well in the real world, people don't always walk around the way we do here." I say, hoping I was right in assuming the difference between our worlds, "Where my home is, buildings and houses are built right next to each other for miles and miles, and instead of dirt paths, the roads are made of a smooth, black, rocky pavement..." I continue telling of how cityscapes are laid out and how expansive roads tread. I tell about how many people live in a city, telling the young ones to imagine thousands or hundreds of thousands of people just like myself or Adam all in one giant city. I hope it helps capture their attention enough for the time being. I had nothing else I could think of off the top of my head.

Adam and company quickly finished passing out the food and soon all of the baby digimon were passified and happy as they eat and slowly began to nod off. Adam and his three digimon let out a collective sigh as they slowly and quietly walked over to Harmen and Sed Careful not to disturb the sleeping babies.
"Follow me you two, I want to show you my little hide away in the village."
Adam and his trio then gently weaved through the crowd of sleeping digimon and began walking down a soft green colored street Toward a tall multicolored clock tower that looked like it was made out of a childs building blocks. Once they were far enough away from the babies Adam turned to Harmen and Sed.
"This is where I come when the digital world gets to be too much. I've been here a long time and now I lead a growing guild as well as help out here plus protecting many villages. Sometimes I just need to get away ya know?"
Adam smiled as they arrived at the base of the clock tower and opened it's plush door. Adam opened the door and he and his three digimon began walking up the winding stairs, stopping at the top where you could see out through the clocks face. Next to the hidden clock face door was a small freezer. Adam opened it up and pulled out six fudge popcicles, One for everyone. Adam then opened up the small door and sat on the edge to where you could see to the edge of the vast village. He passed out all of the ice cream as Terry sat in his lap, Koe sat on his left and Ace on his right. The four bit into their ice cream.
"Come sit you two. Enjoy the View and the Peace. Oh and the ice cream, defiantly the ice cream."
Adam then took off his coat and sat it behind him, the warrior seeming to melt into the child like teen that he actually was as his three partners and he enjoyed their frozen treats.
"If there is any lesson I can teach you about surviving here, one of the most important ones is this. Enjoy the little things. So Harmen, tell me about yourself."

Harmin took the ice cream thankfully, holding one gingerly in his hand as the other was directed to Sen, who then proceeded to attack the treat with vicious bites, recoiling with the brainfreeze that followed soonafter. "Well..." Harmin began, nibbling at the chocolate slowly as he gathered his thoughts, thinking of anything notable to say about himself. "What really is there to say?" He shrugged, rubbing Sen's head delicately, soothing the ache that had formed behind his grimacing face. "I'm from America. New York in particular. I lived there for the last eight years, the first ten spent in Nowheresville, Nebraska." Nowherseville, obviously, being an eggageration of the atmosphere. Nothing really ever happened there. "My dad, little brothers, and myself live in the suburbs now. Well, I guess I don't anymore." He noted with a larger bite of his ice cream, taking a minute to chew before continuing, Sen finally recovered enough from his headache to chomp down more. "I was just about to start college. Not sure exactly what I was gonna do there, but... It was next on the list of things to figure out." He shrugs, realizing that none of that even really mattered much anymore.
