Sally Marshall - better known to the few people who actually talked to her as "just Sally" - was the type of person who enjoyed wild flights of fancy. That was, fantasy scenarios that she either lived out by playing video games, or drummed up in her head while she was in school. Mostly to avoid the idea of being stuck in a learning environment for eight hours a day, five days a week.
But she was also pragmatic enough to realize that said flights of fancy would never happen. Because they were just that: fantasy. Fake. Not real. Awesome, but impractical. And that was a shame because her real life was, well... boring. Like, really, really boring. She was just another middle class citizen living in suburbia, doomed to a life of mediocrity, car payments, and lukewarm Starbucks.
... Or so she'd thought. Because as it turned out, fate had something much crazier in store for her than she could have ever expected.
Her supposed destiny came in the form of an egg. Not just any egg mind you, but rather a gigantic egg that had materialized out of her laptop on a chilly fall morning. Said egg had hatched promptly after dropping into her lap, producing what Sally could only describe as a "pissed off purple blob with little pointy bits that [she] assumed were ears". Not exactly a chicken, although she hadn't really anticipated one coming out of an egg so large.
That wasn't the end of the mystery, though. Not even remotely. After a strange series of events, with one sort of just leading to another, Sally had seemingly found herself in one of her flights of fancy. That was, she'd somehow managed to leave her room by going into her computer, and she'd ended up in... a forest. Of all things. Not very original, but still pretty stunning all the same. At least from Sally's perspective. After all, how many forests did the average person find in their computer?
She was accompanied by the creature that had hatched from her computer egg, whom she'd given the incredibly meaningful name of "Purple Blob". Obviously it wasn't an inaccurate name in the slightest; he certainly was a blob. And he certainly was purple. There wasn't much else to say about him, other than the fact that he had beady little black eyes and constantly looked like he wanted to shank someone. Which was funny considering how tiny he was.
He was pretty quiet too, though Sally assumed that was just because he couldn't speak. Probably because he was a baby. All Purple Blob could do as of right now was make squeaking noises. Irritated squeaking noises, which were then usually followed by him jumping around like a maniac. He was surprisingly bouncy, actually; his squishy little body had the texture of rubber covered in fur. Yep. Strange, but accurate description.
Purple Blob was quite content to just sit in Sally's hands though, as she slowly made her way through the mysterious computer-forest. It wasn't quite like the woodland areas she was used to outside of Harrisburg; there was a sort of spooky component to it. Almost like someone or something was watching her, even though she hadn't seen hide or hair of any other living creature in her ten minutes of wandering.
But there had to be more than just this forest here. Wherever "here" was. Maybe there were more creatures like Purple Blob? More weird, squishy monster babies. She was still trying to get over that bit. He was a weird little beastie who'd hatched from an egg. Which just begged the question; was he a Pokemon? Because for Sally, that would have been an acceptable answer. Even if he wasn't like any Pokemon she'd ever seen before.
She noticed that the forest seemed to be thinning out the more she walked, but she decided to stop by a tree before she reached its end. The shade it provided was minimal, but Sally didn't really care about that. She just wanted to rest her back against something, while going through all the goods she had tucked away in her school-bag.
Though "School-bag" wasn't really the proper term for it. In fact, the amount of school supplies it contained were lacking - aside from a pencil case and a notebook. Rather, it was used for carrying her handheld game systems, snack foods, some rudimentary "inventions" (if you could even call them that), and the money she'd procured from her dad's wallet. Not stolen. Just... borrowed.
It was a good thing she kept all this crap in one place, otherwise she may have been screwed without it. Because, thinking about it now, there didn't seem to be a way 'back'. She'd sort of just dropped to the ground from some place high up. And then... started walking. Somewhere. In bewilderment.
But now it was starting to dawn upon her that she might be stuck wherever this "somewhere" happened to be. A forest. In the middle of nowhere. With a purple monster that had hatched out of an egg and was now sitting in front of her, glowering at her. Sally was a resourceful person certainly, but the realization that she might have been in over her head made her chest cramp up a little. She took off her sunglasses, fiddling with them as she looked at the spooky woodlands surrounding her.
"... 'The fuck do I do now?"

Yu had been walking around the forest with Izanagi in his arms in an attempt to see if he could find anyone (other than Izanagi) to accompany. Yu didn't like the idea of being in this vast world without some sort of companion besides the little Botamon he had befriended. He and Izanagi were just about to leave when they saw Sally walking around with a Kiimon in her arms. Izanagi stiffened at the sight.
"...Yu-dono. I do not believe it would be best to approach that duo. We do not know if they are enemies." the Botamon said. His eyes narrowed as he continued to watch the girl. Yu shook his head.
"Izanagi, if we don't even try, we won't know for sure. Besides, if they are enemies, we can just run. I'm sure we'd be a lot quicker than them." Yu replied, getting a grunt from the Botamon. He was still not convinced, but he complied and allowed Yu to approach the girl. Although, he kept his guard up in case she or the Kiimon attempted to attack. He would protect Yu no matter what. Yu walked up to Sally calmly and slowly before awkwardly greeting her.
"Um, hello. Did you also just arrive here?" he asked in a calm and soft voice. "Izanagi and I have been looking around for companions so that we can figure out a way back to the Real World." Izanagi kept watching Sally and Spyro carefully, keeping an eye out for any sudden movements. He was not letting his friend and Tamer get hurt. Not again.

As Sally had received no answer for her question (not that she had been expecting one, of course), she decided to fiddle around with her belongings in silence for a moment. Purple Blob continued to stare at her while she did so. But Sally paid him no heed. She simply checked over the contents of her bag quickly, making sure everything was there.
The only other thing she had on her person was the device that had materialized shortly after Purple Blob hatched out of his egg. It was arguably the strangest device Sally had ever got her hands on. She'd tinkered with a couple obsolete phones and her old Gameboys before, taking them apart and examining the insides to see just how they worked and then using the parts for other things.
But this thing - this weird, electronic thingamajig, was a complete mystery to her. It had a square screen, a couple buttons, and had beeped and blinked incessantly before her untimely arrival to the computer forest. But now it was quiet; no lights, and no noise. Sally's brow furrowed. Maybe if she could get a pocket knife or something, she could pry it open and figured out what made it tick -
Or she could just get the surprise of her life when someone else approached her.
She ended up nearly flinging the device from her hand, having been so focused on it that she hadn't even heard this guy - whoever he was - sneak up on her. Or, no, wait. He wasn't sneaking up. He was just there. In front of her. Like an average person. Wow. She was way off her game today.
"Jesus!" Sally put a hand over her mouth, and then down on her chest. "Who - where the hell did you come from?"
That was, well, a legitimate question so far as she was concerned. After all, Sally had figured she and Purple Blob were alone. And on one hand she was happy to have found someone, but on the other...
Oh to hell with it. She was just glad it had turned out that she wasn't alone.
"Don't answer that," she said quickly, grabbing for the tree to help herself get up, "You know, regarding... just fuck it. Forget I said that."
She'd sounded like an idiot saying it anyways. Durr hurr, where did you come from? God damn. She was really off her game if she sounded like such a confused dolt. Christ on a bicycle. The guy didn't look like a jackass, at least. Or, well, that was what Sally thought. Purple Blob was pretty neutral to this guy too. He was just sort of sitting, glowering at the stranger with those beady little eyes of his.
And speaking of that... Sally had been about to say something else when she noticed the guy seemed to have a Purple Blob of his own. She pointed at it, whilst rapidly waving her index finger.
"Wait - is that..."
It was obvious by now that she hadn't heard anything the guy had said to her upon approach. Typical Sally, not listening to other people. No; she was too focused on this new Purple Blob. Or rather, "Black Blob". Black Blob with yellow eyes that was infinitely cuter than Purple Blob. What an astounding discovery on her part.
"Shit," Sally proclaimed, dropping her hand back to her side, "You've got one too. What the fuck's even going on right now?"

Yu cocked his head to the side when Sally jumped and shouted. He hadn't thought the girl would get so startled. He also noted that the girl had a device similar to his when he met Izanagi. He blinked again. He hoped he hadn't made a mistake by approaching the girl. Izanagi glared at Sally. He didn't like the way she spoke. It was rather rude and she spoke many profanities as well. Still, if Yu thought the girl was worth speaking to, Izanagi was not going to argue. "...?" He tried to not look confused when Sally suddenly told him to forget what she had just said. She had asked a question when she shouted and was actually considering answering it when she told him to forget it. Still, he supposed the girl simply wanted to ignore that had happened. He had given her quite a scare.
When she began to talk about Izanagi, though, Yu was on the defensive. He did not like it when others spoke ill of his partner, and so he was ready to defend him if need be. However, he was pleasantly surprised to find that this was not the case. Sally had merely pointed at Izanagi, started a question and then dropped her hand before replying that he 'had one too'. Yu blinked and then began to form a reply. "How about an introduction? My name is Yu Seta and the Botamon in my arms is Izanagi." Yu said. Izanagi just stared at the girl and Spyro.

An introduction? When there were so many unanswered questions? Well, it wasn't entirely absurd. In fact it was probably what most people would do in a situation like this. Sally reasoned that with herself mentally, mulling over the stranger - or rather "Yu's" name. It, along with the name he'd given the little monster in his arms, sounded Japanese. Which made sense - he certainly looked the part, if there was any way to say that without sounding offensive.
It wasn't like she even wanted to be offensive anyways. Sally might have been lazy and selfish, but she wasn't a racist.
"Yeah... right. I'm Sally," she replied, "And... this is Purple Blob, I guess."
Saying the 'name' aloud sounded kind of awkward. Especially because "Black Blob" had such a sophisticated name compared to her own blobby creature. But, what the hell had Yu called him? A "bo-something"? Did these things have names of their own, aside from whatever they had decided to call them? Or was it like... a species thing?
So many questions. Sally almost felt dizzy just thinking about this shit. It was like in one short burst her life had been flipped upside-down more than a Fresh Prince of Bel Air episode. First she'd hatched a weird monster out of an egg, then ended up in what looked like another world, and now she was talking to some guy. Just. A dude who'd come out of the blue with his own monster, and looked just as confused as she was.
As much as Sally would have liked to think she was dreaming, it was clear that wasn't the case. Shit was too real for it to be a dream.
She did realize that she was just sort of standing there now, staring at a tree off into the distance. That... was probably a dumb idea. But what else was there for her to say? Aside from making awkward small-talk with her classmates and teachers, Sally didn't really do the whole conversation thing. That sort of interactivity was relegated to video games. Most of the time she just kept quiet unless absolutely necessary.
There was one prudent question that had been on her mind since the start of this entire thing, though.
"Where the fuck are we?"

Yu looked at the little Kiimon in Sally's arms.
"...I don't think he likes that name. Why not just refer to him as his species name? His species name is Kiimon." Yu replied after noting the angry and annoyed expression the grumpy 'purple blob' gave Sally and himself. He waited patiently for Sally to say something more but saw that she seemed to be staring off at a tree in the distance. Yu awkwardly shuffled his feet again, not wanting to say anything more in case the girl was thinking. When she did speak again, Yu perked up. She was asking where they were. That was a simply question to answer.
"We are in the Digital World. Did your partner not say anything about that? Izanagi spoke up the first time we met. Then again, Izanagi is rather mature for his age..." he said, getting a blink from the Botamon. Izanagi didn't seem to react much, showing that he didn't mind being called mature.
notes: sorry it's so short. I don't really know what to write ^ ^;

(( Don't worry about it! :3 ))
The Digital World?
Sally's brow furrowed. That seemed... appropriate. She had no clue what that meant, but considering she'd gone through a computer, well, it made some sense for it to be called a "Digital World"!
Good thing she'd actually met someone who knew what they were talking about. Even if Sally had no idea how he'd figured it all out. She didn't really care about that, though. As long as she knew what was going on, everything was good.
And that applied to Purple Blob as well. Or rather, "Kiimon" as Yu called him. That was a funny name for such an angry looking little critter. She wanted to laugh, but that wouldn't have been kosher.
At least it sounded better than Purple Blob. Sally didn't need Yu or anyone else to tell her that.
That was about the extent of how many questions she had at the moment, however. Sally put "Kiimon" in one arm - causing him to let out an indignant squeak - while picking up and shouldering her backpack.
"Well... thanks," she said, not necessarily curtly but a little quickly. It wasn't often that Sally thanked people, after all.
"I appreciate the help. Guess I'll be goin' now."
Going where exactly? Sally had no fucking idea. Home maybe, if she could manage. She'd had quite enough adventure for one day. As funny as that sounded coming from someone who thought she'd enjoy a fantastic adventure. Maybe she'd just leave that to the video games.

Yu frowned when Sally turned to leave again. He had a feeling the girl had nowhere to go, just like him. He waited a few seconds, watching Sally as she walked away before speaking up again. "Do you have a specific destination?" he asked, wincing when he realized how robotic he suddenly sounded. It didn't help when you had zero social skills. Izanagi glanced at his Tamer again. He was surprised that Yu trusted Sally so much and seemed to want to go with the girl. It just didn't make sense to the Botamon. How could someone trust another being whom they had only just met a few seconds ago so easily? While it was a good thing as it meant that Yu was very kind and enjoyed company, it was also a bad thing as this meant that Yu would be more susceptible to attacks made by enemies if he had thought they were friends. That made Izanagi nervous.

Hearing those words made Sally stop in mid step, and slowly lower her right foot back down to the ground.
A specific destination? That was, well, not exactly likely. Thinking about it in earnest, though... Sally didn't really want to go home. Mostly because she'd definitely be late for school by now; the bus would have already gone, and come maybe thirty minutes either her father or mother would be receiving a phone call stating that yet again she wasn't in her morning class. Whichever it happened to be on that particular day.
But she didn't want to stay here either. It was unseasonably warm out, and her coat wasn't helping her cool off any. Not to mention there wasn't anywhere comfortable to sit. The outdoors certainly wasn't her most favourite of venues. No controlled climate, and no video games. How tragic.
It was kind of funny that someone she'd just met was asking her all these questions, though. Funny, and maybe a little... nice? But he was probably doing it just because he was lost too. Which was also understandable, and - oh bother. Sally puffed air out of her nose, trying not to squeeze Purple Blob in her arms. She was being way too methodical about this.
"... No," she finally admitted, turning around to face Yu again, "I've... actually kinda got no clue where the hell I'm going."
How funny it was for her to just come out and say that. Today was truly a day of firsts: hatching a computer egg, going to a different world, and now talking to a complete stranger. If someone had told Sally a week ago that she'd been doing this, she probably would have just stayed in bed.

Yu scratched the back of his head awkwardly when Sally mentioned that she actually had no idea where she was going. Izanagi glanced at his Tamer. He knew what was going to happen next and did not like it one bit. "Well, why not come with me, then?" Yu suggested with a grin. He had a vague idea of the area but he knew that flocking together was best. "I've already looked around the area and found a path leading from this place to what seems to be the ruins of a temple. We can take shelter there for the time being." he said. Izanagi did not look happy. He hated it when his Tamer went off and did things like this. It was dangerous, after all.

Part of Sally had been expecting a response like that. The other part of her was still confused that someone wanted to be around her, what with how standoffish she felt she was. She'd always been a better observer than a speaker. And maybe not the best listener, considering how focused she tended to be.
Still, it was a good offer, and being cooperative would probably lead to a better alternative than her and Purple Blob going off alone. Yu didn't seem like a bad guy; plus in a case like this, where she had next to no clue where the fuck she was going or what to do, having someone else around could prove... useful? Was that the word she was looking for?
Whatever. After a quick, silent debate, Sally blew out a large puff of air.
"Yeah, sure. Why the hell not?" she said, "I need some place to sit down anyways. I'm tired."
Maybe that'd eventually lead to some answer as to why she - or rather they, in this case - were here. Both human and adorable, squishy monsters alike. And if this whole thing turned out to be a bust or something awful happened, Sally still had some stuff in her bag she could use to get out of a messy situation.

Yu smiled and nodded before beginning to walk down the path. "Please follow me." he said, turning to Sally. Izanagi decided that enough was enough and hopped out of Yu's arms. "Yu-dono. You know that I trust you, but I am not sure this is a good decision. Trusting this girl is one thing, but allowing her entry to one of our shelters is another. If you truly believe this is a good decision, I will leave it at that, but I will not hesitate to protect you if need be." the Botamon replied. Yu blinked, obviously utterly surprised, but then smiled and pet Izanagi's head lightly. "Thank you for worrying about me, Izanagi, but I assure you that this will turn out okay." Izanagi looked deeply into Yu's eyes, as if to search for any hesitation and found that the teen had resolve and determination. The Botamon sighed before nodding and falling silent once more.

Oh, well now. This little guy - this "Botamon", or Izanagi as Yu called him - was certainly very good with his words. Sally couldn't help but stare at him for a few moments, as she pondered why Purple Blob couldn't speak. Let alone that elegantly. It was almost as though she'd been cheated out of having a proper monster friend.
But god if this squishy black blob wasn't being incredibly rude. Treating her like she was some sort of criminal or awful person. Which... well, being honest, wasn't entirely far from the truth. No one needed to know about that, though. Sally would just chill out for a bit, and then she and Purple Blob would go on their merry way. A way hopefully not full of vandalism.
"Does he... always talk like that?" Sally ventured to ask.
Or rather, had he always been capable of talking? She had to consider that too; Purple Blob had only hatched a little over an hour ago at most. That might have had something to do with his stony silence, what with being a baby... thing. And all. But maybe he'd learn how to speak somewhere down the line too.
And Sally would be perfectly fine with that. Just so long as it wasn't annoying.
